About
Since 1996, Key has been building uncommon places — primarily in Bend, Hood River, and Portland, Oregon. With every project, we strive for a workable paradox: to fit into the surroundings while also standing out — creating whole new opportunities for residents and businesses without unnecessarily disrupting historic precedents.
Our development approach prioritizes social and environmental sustainability and highly-considered design. We work closely with public agencies such as housing, economic development, and planning departments, to respond to regional issues.
Over the past eight years, we have completed over 300,000 square feet of new and redeveloped light industrial, office, commercial, and retail spaces at the Hood River Waterfront and across the river, at the Port of Klickitat. With our tenants, who largely stem from aerospace industries, natural food production, and outdoor sports gear businesses, we have rapidly refreshed land that sat vacant for decades and added over 350 new jobs to the area.
Our Portland projects have focused at the Burnside Bridgehead, in partnership with Prosper Portland. YARD and Sideyard have been catalytic in anchoring the eastside neighborhood and providing a gateway for the daily flow of cars, bicycles, and pedestrians across the Burnside Bridge.
